Continue on to see the first homesteader in 1893 and the Island’s roaring twenties culture. Next, did you know that Anna Maria served as a winter base for professional baseball players in the 1950s-70s? This historical complex features the original City Jail, the Belle Haven cottage that once sat on the City Pier, and a garden of plants native to Anna Maria Island. Museum hours are January-April, Tuesday-Saturday from 10am to 4pm and May-December, Tuesday-Saturday from 10am to 1pm. The historical museum is closed the month of September.
