Getting Around the Keys

HomeAbout the AreaGetting Around the Keys

One of the least liked parts of any vacation is trying to figure out how to get around in a place you have never visited before, but that won’t be a problem when you choose RentTheKeys! We try to think ahead and eliminate any problems that could arise, and as such we have completed this guide to getting around the Keys, primarily focusing on Anna Maria Island, Siesta Key and Sarasota, and Cape Coral. These are, of course, the primary areas in which our rentals can be found, so relax and enjoy spending your hours in Florida finding your way easily to the places you have been excited to visit with the help of this Florida Keys transportation!

Anna Maria Island

The island is small, as most islands are, and as such you really won’t have to worry about Florida Keys public transportation. Offering ride share services and easily navigable roads, with GPS and a rental car, you should be able to find any place you want to visit. The bonus transportation option, the free island trolley, is the perfect way to drink all you want and still get to your destination safely! Stopping at three main spots, (Anna Maria City Pier, Manatee Public Beach, and Coquina Beach) the trolley starts running at 6 AM and stops at 10:30 PM.

Siesta Key and Sarasota

Don’t you just love free transportation? The Siesta Key Free Ride is one of our favorite ways to get around, available seven days a week from 10 AM until 2 AM and costing only what you decide to tip the drivers! Also offering the Breeze Trolley, another free transportation option running seven days a week from 10 AM until 10 PM, (midnight on Fridays & Saturdays) you can save your money for more drinks or souvenirs. On the Sarasota mainland, ride share services, taxis, and the Sarasota County Area Transit (bus) will get you from here to there easily and with little fuss!

Florida Keys Transportation on Cape Coral

With a population of almost 200,000 people, you have to expect there will be many ways to get around Cape Coral and you would be absolutely correct! Offering ride share, taxis, and LeeTran which features 22 bus and trolley routes all over Cape Coral and Fort Myers. Cape Coral is a larger city and although it could be possible to get lost, again with GPS and a good rental car, you and your family will be able to spend more time playing and less time in transport!
