Crescent Beach

HomeArea GuideBeachesCrescent Beach

Heading further south along the Keys, Crescent Beach is located just south of St. Augustine, making it more known to locals than to tourists and keeping it less populated during the season, something that makes it a great choice for those who love crowds. Beautiful and peaceful, your moments spent on this “C” shaped beach (hence the name!) will be ones you never forget as you and your family frolic happily on its sugar white beaches, and because it is in such close proximity to St. Augustine, you can explore the historic town in between wading, boogie boarding, or leisurely swims!

Crescent Beach is Located on Anastasia Island

Anastasia Island is also a wildlife refuge, so be sure to keep your eyes open for some of the tamer Florida wildlife as you splash in the surf or take part in any other extracurricular activities. Offering lifeguards stands in the summer months and an old Florida vibe that reminds you of simpler times, the beach is one of the more unspoiled beaches in the state, more than likely due to being an out of the way spot not really known by anyone other than locals! Crescent Beach Florida offers easily accessible parking and as a nod to the old Florida vibe, vehicles can actually drive on the beach, but drivers will need to pay for passes during the high season, March 1st through September 30. Crescent Beach Park is a part of the beach, offering picnic tables, restrooms, and sand dunes to explore for those moments when you want to be out of the water but not far from the beach. Popular with boaters, fishermen and women, and families who like to play, this beach is definitely one of our favorites and we imagine that it will soon be yours as well!

Exploring Anastasia Island

The beaches are always fun, but if you manage to slip away for a moment or two, plan a visit to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm & Zoological Park and learn more about the reptiles that are such an integral part of our state! Home to over 24 species of crocodilians, it also is a refuge for a large variety of mammals, reptiles, and birds, providing a safe haven in a world that is not often safe for vulnerable wildlife.
